Course Overview:
At Melbourne Language Centre, you’ll learn General English in a fun, relaxed and multicultural environment. You’ll quickly pick up basic language skills to help you settle into life in Australia and deal with everyday situations with ease. The General English course focuses on communication skills within a variety of functional and situational contexts and improves students’ language skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking) in real-life situations such as working, studying, travelling or living in Australia.
We will support you during your English studies by:

Offering extra-curricular classes including conversation club and social trip, focusing on speaking skills and cultural/social features of living in Australia.

Offering support sessions with an individual learning plan, focusing on all language skills including Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Grammar, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, and Punctuation.

General English is offered at Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, and Upper-intermediate levels and can serve as the perfect stepping stone to studying English for Academic Purposes and IELTS courses.

This qualification is designed to reflect a range of job roles with team and business result responsibilities in banking or other deposit-taking institutions’ customer contact centres or retail and/or commercial financial services environments. Individuals in these roles have autonomy in performing technical operations, applying solutions to a range of often complex problems, and researching, analysing, and evaluating information from a variety of sources. They apply initiative to plan, coordinate, and evaluate their work and provide guidance to others.
This qualification is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to apply for employment in roles in customer service and mid-level management in banking or other financial institutions, i.e. customer contact centers or retail financial services environments. At this level, graduates are expected to apply specialist skills and knowledge in a range of situations to deal with complex situations and issues.
This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders or senior managers within the building and construction industry who apply knowledge of building, construction, and sustainability systems and processes, structural principles, codes, standards, and legal obligations to construction projects including high-rise.
This qualification will build your skills and knowledge to be able to deliver service in a variety of Business Services job roles. Once qualified graduates will be able to carry out a range of routine procedural, clerical, administrative, or operational tasks that require technology and business skills. You will develop competencies to use sound judgment and relevant theoretical knowledge providing technical advice and support to a team.
This qualification provides you with the skills and knowledge to work in a variety of Business Services job roles including frontline management accountabilities. Once qualified graduates will have the skills and knowledge to carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise that requires business operations skills.

Additionally, graduates will learn how to develop creative and technical solutions for built interior environments. Interior designers will learn the planning and detailing of complex residential, commercial, and institutional design projects with an emphasis on space creation, space planning, and the factors that affect people’s responses to living and working environments. Designers may be self-employed or employed in businesses as design consultants, design project administrators, or design managers. This qualification provides you with the skills and knowledge to work as a business or practice manager in a small to medium-sized health practice.
Learn to apply expert project management skills and knowledge across different industry sectors and contexts. The Diploma of Project Management provides you with the skills and knowledge for project leadership and management roles, and for overseeing and achieving project objectives. Manage project scope, time, quality, costs, risk, and all other elements of project delivery. Gain a sound theoretical knowledge of project management, and use a range of specialised technical and managerial skills to initiate, plan, execute, and evaluate your work and that of other staff. Electives are available in procurement, stakeholder engagement, governance, and policies and procedures for sustainability.
The Advanced Diploma of Program Management helps you apply your specialised project knowledge and skills across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. With core units in program execution, stakeholder engagement, implementing governance, and managing benefits, this advanced Project Management qualification educates senior managers on the more advanced skills required to manage programs (such as sets of interrelated projects) and multiple projects to achieve organisational objectives.

Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others. This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability. The job roles that relate to this qualification may also include RTO Manager and RTO Director.
